Climate Fundamentals Academy: National Capital Regional Workshop #3

A series of 2-day training academies to enable attendees to complete all required training CCO Training Bootcamps (including electives) for the Climate Governance Certificate. These academies will provide curriculum on topics including understanding climate science and variability, identifying climate hazards and conducting vulnerability assessments, basics of greenhouse gas accounting, the food-water-energy nexus, and fundamental governance and stakeholder engagement strategies.

Held in partnership with the District Department of Energy & Environment, Metropolitan Washington Council on Governments, Exelon and Dentonsworkshop participants will build upon foundational knowledge from the first two workshops in this series by learning about materiality and climate risk assessment, assessing the economic implications of climate change and prospective response initiatives, making the business case for climate action, and strategies for engaging across organizational and jurisdictional boundaries with a regional focus added for Florida. Professionals from the public and private sectors, higher education and the NGO community will benefit from the classroom-style, interactive training activities.
